The Federal Motor Carrier Safety Administration (FMCSA) is pleased to
announce the selection of the members and alternates for the National Registry of
Certified Medical Examiners (NRCME) Education Working Integrated Product Team (WIPT).
The Education WIPT represents the FMCSA medical examiner candidate base in the
development and maintenance of the FMCSA medical examiner training. The Education WIPT is
responsible for assisting with development of the initial core curriculum specifications
for medical examiner training and the first version of the online Medical Examiner Handbook.
This group will have the ongoing task of assisting with the maintenance of these items.
The Education WIPT is composed of members and alternates who represent each of
the primary professions performing commercial motor vehicle (CMV) driver
physical examinations: doctors of medicine (MD) and osteopathy (DO), advanced practice
nurses (APN), physician assistants (PA) and chiropractors (DC).

Applications for the Education WIPT were solicited through the NRCME Web site
and through messages to national medical groups and medical professionals
representing the primary professions performing CMV driver physical
examinations.
Members and alternates were selected from geographically diverse sections of the
country and represent many different work environments.
In an effort to ensure members and alternates are representative of the overall
medical examiner population, they were selected based on the following
